After you get through the stacked springboxes and landed on the block at the bottom of the screen, you telejump to the red switch and then use its springbox to jump over the spikes to the center area. Once you get the berry using the spring directly below it, land to the right of the teleport circle's center orb. Then do two teleports as quick as you can to go left and then land back on the right on the low platform :)
For the upper path you mean? There is very lenient coyote time, where you can jump for a number of frames after running off the edge of a platform. This is a very good spot to make use of that :) And if you're playing in browser it might be worth downloading, it should run a little smoother and make the tricky jumps feel more fair.
If you're stuck on the first jump between spikes, you have to barely touch the jump button for a few frames to avoid hitting your head. On the second bit, you want to jump onto the red block - then jump left around the spikes to hit the switch!
I believe the intended functionality is that berries you've collected should be saved/remembered on Continue, but uncollected berries should still be in the map. I'll check for myself when I can to confirm if it's working correctly, both in my mod and the original game.
If you own Pico-8, you can access the original game through the Splore feature. From there you can then run games from the BBS and save local copies to edit.
alright, first of all the game is very fun! hitboxes can be a bit wack but once you figure out how it works (jumping 1 block height, being able to make late coyote time jumps, 3 block jumps) it plays really well! i love the difficulty, the pixel art is amazing! im guessing you used some of the extended palette? im surprised how much stuff and content you managed to put in. i wanted to finish it but i found a softlock spot by accident :/ in this weird cross room if you jump here from the bottom screen, you get stuck dying and respawing in a spike and you cant escape, even if you spam the teleport button
Hey there, sorry about the softlock! There are a couple spots where this is possible and I'd like to come back to make some small edits in the near future.
I'd highly recommend checking out the original game, To A Starling. This is just a map hack for Peteksi's game; they did all the coding and art, I've just done some remixing. But I agree, the pixels are great and they used the alternative palette really effectively!
If it is the first level I show, jump into the wall and do the smallest jump you can immediately after you land. If it is the second just do what I do.
The game levels isn't that difficult if u don't try to get berries, I completed game twice, it was a lot easier without getting berries, so if anyone wants a challenge try getting every berry. The game is good love the levels, atmosphere and animations.
Damn, this game is hard! I like it though so I'll come back to it later on. Well done :)
Edit: The levels that comes after the one in your first screenshot seems impossible. Obviously, I understand it's not impossible but could you give me a clue? :p
Howdy! The next room after that first screenshot requires good use of coyote time (where you can jump after leaving a platform) for the last bit. The first jump through the spike tunnel is just frustratingly precise.
so the first jump is easy to do as long as you do this: jump and right before you hit the ground jump again, you'll do a very low jump. Then you can go through the spikes with that
Great atmosphere and mechanics! I can see really cool stuff with the jump/swap but I find it a little bit too crowded with obstacoles. Got to the third level and while I really dig finding solution and then perform it I felt a bit too much of step curve and no rest from the already hard (but really great) 2 levels. Will give it a go again for sure!
Hiya! For the third room, you're looking to teleport as soon as you bounce on each springblock. That'll send you upwards from the green orb, letting you drift back down to activate the others until you can get past them. If you haven't, I'd recommend trying the original game to get a feel for the mechanics in their original usages :) And downloading can help as well, as sometimes playing in browser can cause some sluggish responsiveness for controls.

Got stuck in a death loop after I tried to go back to get the berry.
how do you get the berry in this room
?Using both springs on the left half of the screen is important here! Let me know if you need a more specific hint.
not sure if you will see this but a better hint would be helpful!

Yes, I did it!!! Fun game!!!
how do I do this one lol

i am on this level and cant figure it out

I still cant figure it out sorry i love hard games like this but my brain is smooth
For some reason, continuing after saving deletes all berries. Is this intentional or a bug?

How did you get the sprites and make the levels different? I want to make a mod too

oh! alright then xD
so you just made a extremely buffed mod to the levels? thats pretty cool! im going to check out the original now thanks!
I'm stuck at level 4 :(
How do I beat it ?

the third room is so easy,/s honestly they should have made it harder/j
Yea, so easy ;)

this is a recreation of To a Starling made to be a huge challenge for those that have beaten the original, you may of already known that but, yeah.
could you please tell me how to solve the third one please? hahaha
